This role will serve as the Risk and Compliance primary point of contact supporting Xoom, PayPal’s foreign remittance service in the EMEA market. The role will be responsible for:

A typical day for the Xoom EMEA Risk & Compliance Officer will include:

  • Providing guidance to business partners relating to the development of controls for critical business processes to mitigate compliance/operational risk.
  • Managing regulatory and compliance matters related
  • Managing federal regulatory and compliance matters, including those relating to Suspicious Activity Reports, Consumer Protection, CSSF
  • Assisting in execution of compliance risk assessments
  • Supporting ongoing and targeted compliance monitoring and/or testing
  • Providing ongoing support of business unit’s issue management and remediation efforts
  • Assisting with the development of SOPs and applicable policies
  • Support governance, reporting and Bank approval processes
  • Providing business with guidance and oversight related to new product development initiatives
  • Preparing periodic reports summarizing the business units’ risk and control environment
  • Engaging key Risk and Compliance program stakeholders to help support business unit initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with business partners and global Risk and Compliance Officers

About You  

  • You have relevant years of Audit, Compliance, AML, Regulatory, banking or similar experience
  • You have prior foreign remittance regulatory experience
  • You demonstrate strong and effective leadership skills and ability to operate comfortably within a complex cultural, global environment.
  • You possess the credibility and reputation to achieve effective working relationships with senior executives across the regional and matrixed organization
  • You have experience in managing compliance programs for foreign remittance services and products
  • You possess sound judgment, flexibility and nimbleness in changing courses and solving problems swiftly.
  • You have strong project management skills.
  • You have ability to multitask effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines.
  • You demonstrate ability to learn quickly, manage projects and drive/achieve results.
  • You have strong computer knowledge; excellent MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint skills.
  • You have superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • You operate with strong integrity with the ability to handle projects of a sensitive and confidential nature.
