You are responsible for building and managing all relationships with companies that supply products and services to the PayPal Global Safety and Security Department, GS&S. This requires working with key vendors to ensure that they meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering quality products and services on time. This person will maintain and support budget management as well as managing the day-to-day Contracts, Statements of Work, purchase orders, invoicing and payments processes. This is a highly visible role that reports directly to the GS&S Senior Director of Governance, Security Technology & Safety and will work closely with leaders across multiple functions within GS&S to ensure vendor expectations are met or exceeded.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Play a leading role in building and refining the GS&S Department vendor management model to ensure a consistent, transparent, and efficient approach to the way the strategic suppliers deliver value to the business.
  • Primary responsibility for the supplier relationship with our strategic suppliers. Partner with Sourcing, Legal and the business managers to drive consistency and efficiency. Identify ways to use Sourcing more strategically to augment the internal capabilities, increase flexibility, and access new skills.
  • Create, process and tracks Vendor Statement of works (SOWs) and Purchase Orders (PO’s) efficiently and accurately to ensure actual spending did not exceed budget.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and vendor management
  • Resolve time-sensitive issues with a high degree of precision and strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains records of Statement of works (SOWs) and Purchase Orders (PO’s) and follows up with vendors on milestones delivery and invoicing
  • Build strong relationships with managers and leaders to ensure timely updates, accomplish tasks and achieve goals
  • Understands CAPEX, OPEX, budgets and accruals processes.
  • Partners with Finance to support budget/spend analysis for functional teams to aid decision making.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship and coordinate all Quarterly Business Review meetings with GS&S business managers and vendors.
  • Evaluate ways to leverage the vendor management model with other key suppliers across the enterprise.
  • Support contract/SOW negotiations, working with the enterprise business functions by reviewing contracts and statements of work, and purchase requests to ensure they meet needs of the organization, adhere to business standards, protect business assets, and comply with existing master services agreements.
  • Ensure the full GSS portfolio of vendors is known and effectively managed in compliance with all PayPal Policies and all contracts are managed in a manner that aligns with GS&S Department Strategy.
  • Manage, negotiate and execute all vendor spend requests against Safety & Security Vendor Strategy, Budget and PP firm wide procurement processes.
  • Develop – in conjunction with Sourcing, Legal, and business managers – annual strategic suppliers’ goals for productivity, attrition, and delivering additional value.
  • Serve as the initial escalation point for all disputes; support appropriate audits
  • Define (in conjunction with t business partners) a consistent set of metrics to track strategic supplier performance against stated objectives. Benchmark the cost, performance and efficiency of vendors; monitor and report on service levels.

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive work experience with increased responsibility, preferably within vendor management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a finance, accounting business or supplier management
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to tailor message to various audiences
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated understanding of business challenges and opportunities, always seeking to understand the business objectives before looking for a specific solution
  • Proven ability to accomplish goals through influence across the enterprise, rather than direct line management control (negotiation and collaboration)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with vendor management
  • Experience with Ariba and SAP
  • Proven success in building strong working relationships and working credibly with senior and executive leaders
  • Ability to visualize problems, ask the right questions and find the right inputs; ability to monitor and review vendor’s financial and operational performance
  • Demonstrated ability to bring together individuals with different perspectives and opinions, and drive toward a common goal
  • Capability to be proactive and seek out solutions to issues without waiting to be told
  • Demonstrated creativity with ability to think of new ways to bring more insight into the relationships and drive additional value to the business.
  • Ability to translate contractual requirements in a meaningful way to ensure key stakeholders understand their contractual obligations
