Job Snapshot

Job Description

Fueled by a fundamental belief that having access to financial services creates opportunity, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) is committed to democratizing financial services and empowering people and businesses to join and thrive in the global economy. Our open digital payments platform gives PayPal’s 325 million active account holders the confidence to connect and transact in new and powerful ways, whether they are online, on a mobile device, in an app, or in person. Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal creates better ways to manage and move money, and offers choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.

In 2018, iZettle became part of the PayPal family. iZettle is on a mission to help small businesses succeed in a world of giants. Tens of millions of small businesses worldwide are still being underserved by the traditional players. By giving small businesses the tools to get paid, sell smarter and grow, we’re empowering them to reach their full potential. Together with PayPal, we can reach 24 million merchants across the world with more of the affordable tools they need to thrive. Join us in putting an end to the ordinary way the world defines financial freedom. Are you an expert in developing and shipping a range of products and services with user's behaviours and needs at the centre? Join us at iZettle to redefine what financial freedom is. As a mid-senior UX designer at iZettle, you will be able to select and apply design methods and processes to develop products that are desirable, valuable, and meaningful to users. You will bring a broad toolset and hands-on skills to the team, empowering them to look across the wider picture of the user experience. This role is particularly interesting for those who can navigate smoothly from discovery to delivery, using user-centric design as a tool to align stakeholders and to deliver on desired outcomes. The ability to identify opportunities, communicate them and influence the product roadmap will be one of your core strengths. You will work in close collaboration with design, tech, and product counterparts on key initiatives. To enable this, you will understand the needs of users, business goals, and technical feasibility to find the right balance of speed of delivery, quality, and relevance.

What we expect from you:

  • You will set and meet high standards for the quality of the experience of iZettle financial services and tools.

  • You will have the ability to think through complex interaction design and systems as a whole.

  • You will design from a user’s perspective to develop a holistic experience across features and flows.

  • You will use your understanding of user-centered design processes to recommend improvements in the product life cycle.

  • You will have professional-level competency with the tools of your trade including Sketch and prototyping tools.

  • You will facilitate design discussions that inspire teams to generate a broad range of ideas.

  • You will articulate and rationalise design solutions as they relate to iZettle's business goals and customer needs to help drive product direction.

  • You will work cross-functionally with product and other areas from iZettle and PayPal, contributing to the overall strategy and product direction.
