The PayPal Working Capital development team is responsible for the applications and web services that provide advances to our US and international customers. PayPal Working Capital is a strategic part of the PayPal business plan with an important revenue-generating role to play, which will impact overall company performance. As a User Interface Engineer, you will assist us in building the solutions that will power the next generation of PayPal Working Capital.

The PayPal Working Capital team is looking for a self-motivated user interface engineer to join the team and help build the user interface for our new platform. The ideal candidate would have a strong proficiency in building browser applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and expertise in building compliant and responsive HTML/CSS

Primary Job Responsibilities

•         Work with the Agile/Scrum team to help clarify the new products and features requested by our Product Management group

•         Collaborate with other developers to design and implement the features and designs within the team backlog

•         Participate in pair programming in the delivery of both POC and targeted features

•         Enhance and maintain existing product capabilities

•         Play an active role in providing feedback and code quality across Agile teams through formal and informal code reviews

Stay on top of industry trends in the JavaScript ecosystem

Job Skills

Must have

•         Experience creating user interfaces from scratch with a responsive design

•         Proficiency in cross-browser and backward compatibility issues

Proficiency in automated testing suites (mocha, selenium, night watch, etc.)

•         Technologies: JavaScript, HTML5/CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap or other design systems (Grid, etc)

Experience building stateful web applications using React, Ember, or Angular

•         Experience with Dust.js or other templating engines

•         Experience with LESS or Sass

•         Experience with front end packaging solutions like Webpack, jspm, Bower, Browsify

•         Experience with source control management tools like Git or Subversion

•         Experience with Node.js, npm, or Express

•         Experience with Grunt or other build/packaging systems

Nice to have

•         Familiarity with basic Unix commands
