The University Programs Operations Project Manager is a key member of the University Programs team, responsible for end-to-end operational planning and execution of all the things that make University Programs work effectively, efficiently and seamlessly. It requires experience in project and process management as well as a deep interest in the University environment. The Operations Project Manager is responsible for managing overall budget, vendor and contract management, data and reporting management, managing/executing promotional (swag) plan, team process management, support university recruiting events at PayPal and at various college campus locations, and engage with PayPal interns and recent college graduate candidates.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
As a key member of the University Programs team, you will be responsible for delivering important outcomes in support of all operational aspects of University Programs at PayPal, globally. The Operations Project Manager is responsible for planning, tracking and ensuring budget and financial investments are aligned to University Programs’ objectives; manage vendors and related contracts to enable the smooth operations of all University Recruiting, Relations and Experience activities; Manage data and reporting within and beyond the University team to ensure data driven insights and decisions are leveraged; Manage all promotional collateral (swag) end-to-end including selection, budget and inventory management; Work closely with Global Head of University Programs to design and execute team processes to enable even more optimal team collaboration and function; Work closely with University Experience teams in support of deliverables for Intern and Recent College Graduate programs and experiences; Collaborate and contribute to University Recruiting and Relations activities in PayPal offices and college campuses; Engage with candidates, interns and recent college graduate hires in support of PayPal’s overall University Programs plan. The Operations Project Manager will own critical relationships with internal and external partners, and be responsible for timely completion of deliverables and drive important and strategic operational and organizational outcomes for PayPal.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary Operations project manager for University Programs globally
  • Manage all aspects of University’s budget, including annual budget planning, monthly/quarterly tracking, collaboration with broader Operations and Finance community to ensure budget aligns to plan, and design mechanisms to optimize PayPal’s investments internally and externally
  • Manage end-to-end vendor process and relationship for University Programs, including vendor relationships, evaluations, assessments, selection and contract review and administration. Develop and deepen relationships with key vendor partners to ensure optimal outcomes for PayPal and our University community. Collaborate with University Program leaders to plan and execute key vendor deliverables.
  • Manage data analysis and reporting for University Programs, including understanding of data sources, systems, and reporting tools. Work with data owners to understand and clean data sources to ensure accurate reports for tracking and strategic decision making.
  • Design and manage University Program’s promotional collateral (swag) to ensure its strategic objectives are met as well as the management and distribution of materials. Determine appropriateness for global as well as regional markets.
  • Analyze, design and execute operational processes to enhance team and program outcomes. Collaborate with Global Head of University Programs to review current practices to determine plans for enhancements, in support of organizational and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with University Programs leaders in Recruiting, Relations, Experience and Regions to support execution of plans
  • Collaborate with global project peers to plan and deliver appropriate programs in various geographic regions
  • Support University Programs activities in PayPal locations and college campuses, employing broad set of skills from operations to candidate engagement
  • Establish timelines and milestones for University Programs goals and specific project goals, predicts roadblocks and finds integration points to move work forward
  • Actively manage and track multiple projects and timelines across multiple channels and prioritize work and projects across overall set PayPal/HR priorities and focus areas
  • Support Fun. Help lead activities and events that increase fun within and beyond University Programs. The team that works hard and have fun together can accomplish amazing things together. Job Requirements:

  • Organized and methodical in thinking and execution
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Effectively understanding key program goals to drive strategic and concrete outcomes
  • Effectively solve problems systematically, from diagnosis to construction of options for resolution
  • Effectively collaborate across University Programs, PayPal and external communities to build credibility and trust with partners to co-own and co-deliver important outcomes for PayPal
  • Proven project / program management experience to results in effective delivery of outcomes and results; you get to prove over and over that you get the right outcomes delivered consistently
  • Very effective budget planning and management; strong experience with budget management and reporting tools, such as Excel (create and read spreadsheets, formulas, formats, manipulate data and pivot tables)
  • Effective data reporting experience with working proficiency in reporting tools, such as Visier and Tableau
  • Extremely detail oriented and able to drill down to very detailed levels to substantiate high level objectives and goals
  • You are known to dots your I’s and cross your t’s
  • You love working with the University community – students, colleges, associations, hiring managers and external partners who are changing the way college students chart out their career paths
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally

Education: BS degree

Experience: 6+ years of related experience, particularly in a complex organizational environment
