The Finance and Data Insights Analyst will be a key member of the UK Finance and Analytics team as well as providing support to the equivalent teams across Core Markets (North America, Germany/Austria/Switzerland and Australia). The successful candidate will be highly analytical, have an enquiring mind, a proactive/self-starter nature, commercial acumen and a desire for discovering insights from consumer and merchant activity. The key focus will be to drive optimal decision making through financial modelling and quantitative analysis. Excellent business and communication skills are also key to be able to present and work with the wider FP&A team and business owners. The candidate will report into the FP&A Director and will be part of the FP&A team based in Richmond, SW London.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Derive actionable insights based on quantitative and qualitative research, discover new opportunities and identify the gaps to grow and optimize business through deep dive analysis on very large quantities of data

  • Build and develop existing frameworks (models and reports) to analyse and keep track of UK business performance as well as provide transparency on forecast assumptions

  • Support Senior Management on key projects, and outline strategic and tactical recommendations in close collaboration with the UK Business unit

  • Support Finance process and system improvements, partnering with global FP&A/Analytics and technology teams, to streamline efficiency

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, in either finance analytics or business data analytics capacity, ideally in a fast moving and matrixed environment

  • eCommerce or payments industry experience an advantage but not essential

  • Excellent SQL and Excel skills (including pivot tables, functions, macros, charts)

  • Dashboard building experience is necessary, Tableau or QlikView experience a plus

  • Thorough understanding and experience of working with large customer and transactional datasets

  • Ability to story-tell and translate analysis and insights into actionable recommendations

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills: able to work across organization & geographies and influence peers and more senior colleagues

  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, with strong ability to drive towards action and impact

  • Results oriented and enthusiastic team player

  • Must be eager to learn, contribute and share knowledge
