PayPal is seeking a Technology and Security Oversight Lead to be a key contributor in the identification, assessment, measurement, and reduction of the technology and security risk for PayPal Business Units.

The candidate will be a key contributor in the identification, assessment, measurement, and reduction of the technology and security risk for PayPal Business Units.  

As a member of the second line of defense team, you will collaborate closely with the leads of different lines of business, first line security, and risk management teams to continuously improve the technology and security risk posture of the business units.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in the technology and security risk assessment process for PayPal.
  • Help mature the risk assessment processes, methodology, and approach to align acquisitions with PayPal standards
  • Lead comprehensive assessments to determine Business Unit technology and security profile
  • Work with internal and external teams to conduct assessments and testing of networks, platforms, and applications
  • Assess maturity of security and technology programs through examination of documentation, review of processes, and interviews with key staff
  • Identity gaps, assess risk, and help develop remediation action plans
  • Staying current on emerging technologies and security trends and how the impact the business units.

Qualifications

  • A senior technology or security leader with experience across a range of enterprise-wide information security functions, technology architectures, capabilities, and processes
  • 8+ years of experience in a senior information security and/or reliability engineering position
  • Have a strong domain expertise in technology and/or security fields: Infrastructure (public cloud/datacenter) security, application security, or data security
  • Strong working knowledge of Identity and Access Management, Cryptography and Key Management, and Vulnerability Management
  • Experience in financial services or security technology industries, preferably in dynamic and fast changing environments
  • Familiarity with industry and government regulatory obligations, including PCI DSS, SOX, SSAE 16
  • Deep and proven understanding of risk management

  • Self-motivated and directed with strong bias to action: The executive must have a demonstrated record of driving operations and/or projects to successful outcomes
  • Innovation leadership:  This leader should have a demonstrated ability to lead with innovative ideas rather than follow the competition or take traditional approaches.
