PayPal’s Technology and Information Security Oversight organization is seeking a highly motivated oversight analyst who is able to drive and maintain cross-functional relationships with PayPal’s diverse organizational structure. This position requires a skill set capable of understanding technology and security controls, performing control strength assessments, analyzing data sets, correlating controls to risks, aligning control objectives and risk frameworks to surface gaps, and communicate findings to the business and leadership across the company. The position will provide an immense amount of exposure to different PayPal products and data sources that PayPal has available to improve oversight assurance and better manage and reduce risk.

Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Conduct analysis on security and technology platforms
    • Perform root cause analyses (RCA) over how system failures and control gaps are created
    • Determine linkages between process failures and system failures
    • Partner with the Operational Command Center & Cyber Defense Center to identify areas for improvement among organizational roles and operational processes.
    • Work with Risk teams to provide recommendations on detection and mitigation strategies
    • Collaborate with Global Testing and Security Assurance teams on oversight areas to support Risk Assessments and Control Assessments
    • Support and make improvements to methodology for ensuring that both policy and strategy are consistently applied across the enterprise, with a focus on PayPal Core Services and Common Platforms.
    • Direct consistent messaging on matters related to PayPal Information Security and Technology to internal and external audiences.
    • Articulate Information Security and Technology Policy and risk driven priorities to stakeholders and leaders, and work with internal teams to drive plans for adherence to policy.
    • Lead engagement with leadership across PayPal to educate employees and key leadership, encourage collaboration on security policy, and enable open dialogue on Information Security and Technology issues and activities.
    • Represent PayPal/PayPal Information Security in key engagements on cybersecurity and technology strategy, policy, issues management and control assurance.
    • Identify critical champions and stakeholders on issues and manage effective engagement with those persons and entities.
    • Work across the Security and Technology Strategy teams to ensure that policies and strategies are updated and enhanced as appropriate, incorporating learnings.
    • Contribute to the definition of KRIs to measure security and technology risk.
    • Collaborate on information security vision and build a comprehensive approach for partnering with both internal and external stakeholders.
    Experience Requirements
    • 10+ years of security and/or technology experience.
    • Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and business professionals inside and outside of the company.
    • Experience designing and delivering enterprise-wide information security assurance, processes, and organizational structures.
    • Lateral thinking and perseverance in achieving goals.
    • Willingness to contribute ideas and learn from others on the team.

    Education
    Undergraduate degree in computer science or related security field required; BS or MS in
