Bring your skill and experience to author developer guides, API interface guides, and solution design documents that are used worldwide by internal/external developer audiences and partners. Our solutions are used by to make PayPal Available at the Point of Sale and for third party commerce. Come help us make developers smile! 


As a Technical Writer, we'd look to you to:

  • Supplement developer documentation with relevant sample code. The documentation is primarily for complex payment applications software development.
  • Edit, clarify and proofread documents and sequence diagrams written by developers, SME’s and architects.
  • Review existing technical documents and bring them up to best practices standards of the payment networks and software development.
  • Manage complex documentation projects with tight timelines and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.
  • Work with raw content from subject matter experts and architects to produce documentation for a technical audience to design and organize documentation sets for new APIs and developer products.
  • Work with developers to provide samples of API reference documentation including JSON response samples and curl commands.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or Communications.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • 3 to 5 + years’ experience as a technical writer, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Aptitude with both API-level technical documentation and higher level technical guides and feature briefs.
  • Familiarity with developer documentation is a plus.
  • Experience writing REST API documentation.
  • Knowledge of full stack architecture.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner who works with minimal to no supervision.
  • Results-driven approach, with a winning, positive attitude. Experience providing feedback on APIs during development cycles.
  • Experience with the payments industry or mobile commerce.
