This position is part of PayPal's Core Platform and Infrastructure organization. We deliver a seamlessly scalable, exceptionally efficient, highly reliable infrastructure and services platform for our global network. The infrastructure and Edge services organization designs, delivers and operates multi faceted of PayPal global network ranging from edge stack deployment to internal datacenter routing mechanics. The successful candidate will be dev-ops engineer with a proven track record of delivering infrastructure solutions at massive scale. The candidate will have a passion for expanding the usage of PayPal Global network. He/she will be expected to have a solid background in all aspects of routing, infrastructure automation and cloud technologies. Attention to detail and a passion for quality, along with the ability to create and innovate will be crucial. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in cross-functional teams while being a hands-on The position is based at PayPal’s office in Scottsdale, Arizona.

  • Deep understanding of HTTP protocols and routing layers.
  • Interface with internal engineering teams, customers, and partners.
  • Get involved at a hands-on level designing and deployment of solutions.
  • Work with engineering team on detailed technical design.
  • A Positive "can do" attitude with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas and see them to fruition.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding  with HTTP protocols, SSL, Multiplexing, GSLB, Anycast, CDN and RUM. 
  • Deep hands-on experience with GTM based solutions
  • Deep hands-on experience in deploying solution for cloud and cluster management
  • Deep hands-on experience with clustering technology such as Mesos and Kubernetes
  • Deep hands-on experience with Docker containers is a must.
  • Familiarity with load balancers including F5, A10, and AVI Vantage.
  • Experience with Public Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure and GCP is required
  • A solid understanding of Systems and Networking engineering is required
