The primary responsibility of China Import Buy PM is to plan and execute China import buy partnership programs to grow PayPal China’s Import Buying business. This person needs to develop clear operational plans together with PayPal’s partner in China, PayPal business owners in various import buy destination markets, and other stakeholders, and execute them.

His / her responsibilities will be as follows:

Operational Plan Development

  • Generate insights based on primary and secondary research and analysis of import buy market trends and historical business, and provide inputs to import buy strategy design, including the choices of corridors, categories, target merchant and consumer profiles, and purchase occasions
  • Translate strategic plans into monthly operational plans with clear articulation of key initiatives, programs, business targets, and product metrics
  • Work with cross-functional teams and partner to define critical processes including points of contacts, owners, check points, and deliverables for day-to-day operations
  • Observe import buy product trends and best practices in the market and provide local market insights to PayPal product management to help improve and design import buy product.

Partner Management

  • Establish clear points of contacts with PayPal’s external partner for day-to-day operations
  • Maintain a healthy working relationship with partner working teams and build trust
  • Work with partner in operational planning and day-to-day operations for smooth joint execution of initiatives and programs
  • Problem solve with partner on issues and collaborate with internal PayPal cross-function teams

Program Execution

  • Co-develop and synthesize marketing program requirements together with partner and PayPal marketing teams in overseas countries and China, and translate them into actionable items for PayPal and PayPal merchants
  • Track consumer and merchant marketing progresses and collaborate with partner and PayPal teams for trouble shooting
  • Develop regular analytics dashboard and review performance with management team
  • Operationalize day to day processes by working closely with partner team and cross-function teams in PayPal, including Treasury, Finance, Operations, Risk, and Compliance

Cross-function collaboration and leadership

  • Act as the quarterback of China import buy program execution and own program results
  • Problem solve with cross-function teams in PayPal and with partner
  • Carry weight in analysis and recommendation, establish clarity on status quo and suggestions
  • Lead by influence, passion, and creativity, and be able to sell ideas with solutions

                                            PayPal external partner


  • 8+ years’ working experience in China, in eCommerce, internet, retail sectors with a focus on strategy and growth, product management, business development, procurement and supply chain management, category management, or online marketing
  • Strong track record of large scale program PMO, business plan execution and delivering results.
  • A good understanding of China eCommerce and retail industries
  • Experiences in digital marketing in China and category management in online contexts are highly preferred
  • Experiences in managing teams in start ups with revenue responsibilities and/ or high-growth programs are highly preferred
  • Must be a self-starter and comfortable to live and deliver in a matrix environment
  • Always think strategically and aim high, plan and prioritize wisely with comprehensiveness, and progress steadily with clarity
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English in business environment
  • Bachelor degree required.  MBA preferred
