Paypal requires a strong product manager to work with our global product & experience partners along with our Risk & Compliance policy experts to minimize fraud risk & ensure adherence to global regulations. The product manager will be involved in global company roll-outs, work with policy partners globally and determine requirements and priorities for the the engineering teams. This role will specifically start within the payments risk space with a focus on P2P including PayPal subsidiaries Xoom and Venmo. In these areas we evaluate different forms of fraud, sanctions and other risks and partner with various product, policy architecture groups to determine immediate plans and long term vision.

Understand and synthesize broad Risk needs with global product rollouts for P2P (person to person) payment products

  •     Assess new opportunities with internal and external groups (e.g., best practices, strategic fit, product execution, business impact, operational excellence, etc.)
  •     Manage communications and expectations with internal/external stakeholders and the Paypal community
  •     Build positive relationships through a strong commitment to high quality and on time delivery.
  •     Identifies cross-domain product gaps and deal with ambiguity. Provides solutions to identified problem and develop contingency plans for product requirements and launch decisions
  •     Applies convergent thinking to recommend viable, innovative solutions. Benchmarks ideas against global competitive trends and evolving customer needs. Able to visually articulate product ideas.
  •     Prioritize requirements directly with business stakeholders. Manages a backlog of requirements across multiple projects. Specifications require few clarifications and rarely lead to defects. Learning to make good tradeoff decisions that minimize churn.
  •     Conceptualize and describes complex problems. Analyzes data for multiple scenarios to identify root causes. Understands, interprets and can challenge test results.
  •     Create a project plan and launches product changes with minimal guidance. Sets appropriate milestones and final deadlines for cross functional team. Practices judgment to involve senior management. Leads effective project meetings.

The person in this role must have the ability to drive and present tradeoff, status and prioritization updates with senior leadership.
