Strategic Product Management at Xoom, a PayPal Service

We’re looking for a Sr. Product Manager in San Francisco, for Xoom, A PayPal Service.

You’ll work on Xoom’s most strategic new features and develop product roadmaps for our growing global business. In a typical day, you might:

  • Speak to customers that send money from Houston to Honduras, Munich to Mumbai, Glasgow to Ghana, Vancouver to Vietnam, or Madrid to Morocco
  • Coordinate with our software architects, product managers and UX team to build a new feature
  • Define a team's priorities, set goals, and use analytics to report on progress
  • Meet with legal and compliance experts from PayPal's global offices and together craft a plan to comply with local regulations
  • Listen to customer support phone calls and recommend an improvement in an operational workflow
  • Diagnose a problem with our payment processing and meet with colleages from Braintree to identify a fix
  • Present a strategy to executives to get more PayPal users sending to banks and for cash pickup with Xoom

Core job responsibilities:

  • Build, and thoroughly document strategic product roadmap recommendations
  • Define product requirements and implementation details, writing clear, detailed and thorough specifications for complex features, functionality and products
  • Ensure proper communication cadence with local and international leadership
  • Liaise with engineering, design, product management, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure features and technical specifications meet defined business requirements
  • Define and measure KPIs for success of new products and markets
  • Identify partnerships and service providers that Xoom can leverage to win in global markets. As needed, engage in contract negotiations and service details

You have:

  • 5+ years' experience working with global products in a top tech or payments company
  • Built a product from concept to launch
  • Experience working in an international or multi-cultural product or setting
  • Management consulting or entrepreneurial experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills to determine the right metrics and turn data into insight


  • BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • MBA a strong plus
