Payment Product and Engineering (PPE) is responsible for managing the global products and partnerships that enable the movement of funds into and out of the PayPal system.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Payment Product and Engineering (PPE) is responsible for managing the global products and partnerships that enable the movement of funds into and out of the PayPal system.  PPE is seeking a product manager to help support PayPal’s rapidly evolving Global business.  This position will be cross-functional in scope and will focus on:

  • Defining requirements, coordinating and leading successful execution of payments products within the PPE organization. Optimizing, both from a cost and processing quality perspective, how PayPal processes both card and bank transactions.
  • On an ongoing basis, driving the execution & management of any payment infrastructure roll out, with the focus on understanding & interpreting the broad requirements from all 3rd party stakeholders and communicating those to the broader internal team.
  • Engaging closely with the engineering team, applying agile methodology, to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable execution schedule.
  • Working cross-functionally with other product managers, product development, CS, operations, vendors, and other internal teams to resolve complex live issues and to enhance the customer experience.
  • Managing the platform relationship with external partners and acquiring and processing banks.
  • Proactively monitoring product KPIs & identifying gaps/solutions. Engaging in problem solving with the analytics teams to determine trends and root causes. Leading and rallying teams to execute until problem is solved.

Job Requirements

  • The ideal candidate should have a BS/BA degree and professional experience in payments.
  • Experience in executing various aspects of product management, from industry best practices and customer requirements assessment to product design and process optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in process improvement through the use of data driven analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business initiatives.
  • Ability to manage and maximize the value of partner relationships.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively and diplomatically.
  • The candidate should be fluent in English & Mandarin.  The position will require approximately 10% international travel.
