We are seeking an experienced Pega software engineer to provide technical leadership in solution design, development, and implementation of PegaSystems customer care applications for PayPal Global Operations. As a member of a very talented product development team in San Jose, you will work closely with the business (our immediate customers) to deliver world class customer care solutions. Design and development work may involve business process modeling and model maintenance tools, Java Web services, and user interface development in a highly complex and collaborative environment.


Develop new workflows, services, and components using PRPC, Java, and Javascript

Maintain and enhance existing software components

Actively engage on architecture discussions to deliver efficient, scalable applications on a well-thought-out design foundation

Employ technical expertise to help team members overcome technical problems

Rapid prototyping to demonstrate possible solutions

Adhere to release/project schedule and milestones – delivery excellence

Challenge status quo - promote continuous application and process improvement

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required

4+ years related professional experience, delivering applications using PRPC

Successful development experience with high-performance, enterprise-grade software, particularly frameworks and maintenance tools

Demonstrated experience working on Oracle, SQL, Linux, and scripting

Strong design and coding skills

Experience building systems using Services Oriented Architecture and Web Services

Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical

Desired Skills:

Strong Java skills are desired with demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems

Knowledge of automated unit and system test strategies and frameworks

Should have a minimum of Pega Systems CSSA Certification; LSA is a plus

Experience with Agile methodologies preferred

Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Rally preferred
