PayPal’s Legal Team is looking for an experienced and dynamic paralegal to join its Litigation group. In this role, you will work closely with the Litigation team attorneys and fellow paralegals managing all aspects of litigation. This position reports to the Director, Legal—Litigation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend small claims court hearings and represent PayPal and its subsidiaries. 
  • Assist with the management of litigation including preparing hold notices, researching and analyzing claims, gathering documents and reviewing pleadings and discovery responses.
  • Assist with discovery and trial preparation. 
  • Work on complex assignments requiring advanced problem solving skills.  
  • Maintain and manage information relating to litigation and other matters handled by PayPal’s Litigation team and use that information to drive better processes and efficiencies.

Job Requirements and Basic Qualifications:

  • This is an experienced paralegal role requiring a demonstrated proficiency and experience in all aspects of litigation management. 
  • Must have five or more years of paralegal experience at a law firm or in house legal department handling commercial litigation.
  • Must be a good project manager who is able to bring various constituencies and stakeholders together to complete projects timely and efficiently. 
  • Facilitate a team-based approach to subject matter management and knowledge sharing, and be comfortable with a dynamic and changing environment that emphasizes collaboration and team performance over management hierarchy.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with PayPal legal colleagues across our global organization.
  • The candidate should be capable of managing numerous projects and cases simultaneously under tight deadlines while maintaining a good sense of humor and positive attitude. 
  • Must be a skilled oral and written communicator. 
  • Creative thinker with strong problem solving skills and the ability to stay calm under challenging circumstances.
  • Familiarity with, and strong interest in, PayPal, mobile payments, emerging payment technology and the payments industry. 
  • Highly skilled in MS PowerPoint, Skype, MS Excel, Relativity, iPRO, or other eDiscovery software and tools.
  • Must be excellent at organizing and tracking case information and keeping accurate records and case files. 
  • Experience preparing concise and succinct presentations, graphs and reports. 
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited school preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry is a plus. 
  • Requires 25% travel, often out of state.
