The Global Professional Services (GPS) team helps leaders understand and manage a complex business landscape. Insights range from operational performance to customer experience and product and technology enablement. You will need exceptional problem-solving expertise with an emphasis on leadership and mentoring, as well as the ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly-changing environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide analytical thought leadership, mentoring and training to analysts and end users globally
  • Develop a deep understanding of PayPal’s data and applications, and the use of data for business improvement
  • Translate data-driven insights into consumable, audience appropriate information and recommendations
  • Ensure global analysts are empowered to perform deep-dives, identify challenges and opportunities, and efficiently create actionable insight for business leaders
  • Deliver high quality analysis and data visualization, conveying complex concepts in easy to understand terms
  • Utilize a wide range of analytical and database tools, including Teradata, Excel, Tableau, and MicroStrategy
  • Establish clear strategies for long-term success, and ensure the team are positioned to deliver daily
  • Work across silos and collaborate with global colleagues and partner organizations to ensure consistency and sharing of insights as “one team”

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 12+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, strategy or related functions
  • Excels at transforming complex data into insightful and relevant business narratives
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization, time management and project management skills
  • Excellent reporting, business analysis and data visualization skills
  • Excellent SQL skills, with solid data warehouse application (Teradata preferred, other platforms may be considered). Experience building financial models and scenario planning is a plus
  • Excellent reporting tool skills, from an administrative and user perspective – Advanced Tableau, Advanced Microsoft Excel and SQL knowledge; experience with MicroStrategy, Einstein Analytics, Salesforce.com reporting an advantage
  • Additional programming, technical skills and interests are a plus (VBA, Python, shell scripting, version control, big data technologies, etc.)
  • Good understanding of instrumentation and able to coordinate with partners on requirements
  • Ability to identify and pursue new improvement opportunities in line with business plans
  • Presentation skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to influence cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Prior experience in building, developing, leading and retaining high performance teams preferred
  • Experience in Financial Services, Payments and Customer Services is a plus
