Reporting to the Director, Executive Development, the Sr. Manager, Executive Development will be responsible for supporting the build out of the integrated talent development initiative that will support the development of PayPal’s pipeline of executive leaders. This unique role will have the opportunity to shape the way that the organization thinks about leveraging assessment data and insights, while delivering high-touch development experiences. In partnership with the Director, Executive Development, this role will be responsible for designing sustainable development plans for executives and ongoing coaching experiences after completion of assessments.

This role requires a high degree of integrity, vision and sound judgment. The ideal candidate is results-driven, with a passion for and commitment to delivering exceptional executive development experiences across a rapidly scaling, matrixed organization. In addition, this individual must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and influencing without formal authority. As a member of the broader Global Talent Development COE, this role will have the opportunity to partner with teammates across the other practice areas while mentoring and coaching other junior team members.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the approach for assessing and developing internal and external high potential talent with a focus on outstanding development experiences.
  • Lead 6-8-month coaching engagements with new executives and those in the talent pipeline.
  • Design and lead executive interventions with their teams based on their unique challenges.
  • Execute best-in-class onboarding experiences for executive new hires. 
  • Analyze leadership assessment data and partner with key stakeholders to develop robust development plans.
  • Identify opportunities to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion is woven into each of PayPal executive programs.
  • Help ensure the talent management function is a strategic partner to the business, and foster a culture of continuous learning, growth mindset and knowledge sharing. Work in close partnership with Talent partners, HR Business Partners, and Senior Leaders to determine the individual executive development strategies for each organization as well as leverage/develop existing initiatives/capabilities of leadership teams.  
  • Partner closely with vendors to shape and refine the executive assessment experience.
  • Debrief leadership assessments to identify core leadership competencies and maintain a strong pulse on internal leader’s strengths/development areas 
  • Support transition planning for future roles/experience of leaders
  • Exhibit high levels of resourcefulness, influence, organizational savviness, execution skills and executive presence. 
  • Collaborate with global internal stakeholders including talent partners, HRBPs and business teams.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 8+ years of strategic Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning or related experience, gained in progressive companies with best-in-class talent management practices.
  • Ph.D. in I/O Psychology preferred.
