PayPal's Office of the CIO (OCIO) supports a wide range of tools to help employees collaborate more effectively across the enterprise. The OCIO would like to supplement their Tool Adoption team with a role focused on creating the best context for collaboration, as well as on introducing and encouraging broader collaboration behaviors within and between teams. The goal is to drive better business outcomes by maximizing the positive results of successful collaboration.

PayPal's Culture of Collaboration role will shape and implement collaboration initiatives. This individual will combine expertise in driving behavioral outcomes, familiarity with collaboration tools within a technology environment, and the ability to work successfully with diverse functions across the entire company. The best collaboration approaches will demonstrate a blend of creativity and focus on business-relevant metrics.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to establish credibility in a technology environment
  • Ability to communicate equally effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional set of internal and external stakeholders, solicit and synthesize feedback, and make recommendations on the best path forward
  • Knowledge of team dynamics and organizational behavior, providing insights as to why people behave as they do and what can be done to change behavior
  • Ability to successfully influence at an executive level
  • Ability to creatively capture the attention of busy teams, engage them in novel but interesting ways, and sustain that attention throughout the life of a collaboration initiative
  • Experience designing marketing collateral or working with producers of marketing materials to create engaging ways of reaching your audience
  • Ability to build consensus and achieve goals through influence at the senior executive level and by working seamlessly with project-level employees
  • Experience with implementing organizational changes in ways that drive sustained adoption and measurable outcomes
  • Ability to express behavioral and collaboration outcomes in measurable terms for a data-driven audience; measure, visualize, and disseminate initiative progress and outcomes in clear, credible, and compelling ways
  • Ability to compete for resources in a politically savvy way

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing complex and cross-functional initiatives, processes, or projects, especially those with a collaboration focus
  • Demonstrated success consulting, negotiating with, and coaching business leaders
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to use data to drive decisions and actions
  • Ability to develop expertise in innovative tools across all collaboration media, including chat, file sharing and storing, and resource management (e.g. Slack, Box, One Drive, Skype, Confluence, and Rally)
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience.

This role will report directly to the Head of OCIO Employee Technology Solutions
