We are looking for an experienced M&A Integration professional to join the PayPal Corporate Development, M&A Integration Team. You will join a fast-paced, collaborative and global group. Our goal is to deliver a world-class integration experience for our acquired businesses. As a PayPal ambassador and Integration leader, you will ensure that our acquired businesses are fully supported and set up for success at every stage of their integration journey.

The Sr. Director, M&A Integration will bring exceptional leadership, analytical and communication skills along with proven effectiveness engaging and coordinating both a direct, and an extended, cross-functional integration team. 

The Sr. Director, M&A Integration reports to the Vice President, M&A Integration.  This position is located in San Jose, CA with some flexibility to work in San Francisco, CA. 

You drive Integration Strategy and Planning: 

•       Own the full integration program from strategy development to planning through execution.  Account for the unique business objectives, challenges, and complexities of each acquired business. 

•       Participate in early due diligence with the Corporate Development team to understand the strategic objectives, assess the target company, and provide early inputs on integration planning, risks, and mitigation. 

•       Develop robust integration strategies to support U.S. and cross-border integrations. 

•       Conduct ad-hoc qualitative and quantitative analyses for strategic planning and integration efforts. 

•       Develop integration metrics that demonstrates a clear path to a successful integration. 

You are a Trusted Advisor and Leader: 

•       Develop and maintain a trusted advisor role with both the acquired leadership and the PayPal sponsoring executive. 

•       Build close working relationships to motivate, collaborate, and work successfully in a team environment.   

•       Identify, frame and drive resolution of issues that require making tough decisions.   

•       Partner with the Business leaders and FP&A to deliver business performance metrics and results.   

You excel at Problem Solving: 

•       Strong critical thinking skills and experience applying various methodologies or practices to assess processes, business issues and people.  

•       Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to structure complex problems and develop mitigation strategies. 

•       Effective in taking decisive action to mitigate program risks and issues. 

•       Confidently adapt to various M&A scenarios including 20-person acquisitions to 1,000+-person, multi-year integration programs. 

Your Communication is clear and effective: 

•       Communicate in an open, direct, respectful and authentic manner in all situations.  

•       Excellent written and verbal communication and strong influence with the ability to partner with people at different levels across the company. 

•       Extract key messages from detail and translate into audience appropriate messages.  

You understand the value of Change Management for M&A: 

•       Drive a holistic Change Management Strategy as part of the larger integration program. 

•       Nurture the acquired company through development of authentic and trusting working relationships. 

•       Assist the acquired business leadership with on-boarding to ensure they understand what is expected of them and how to successfully navigate PayPal. 

•       Demonstrate high EQ. Tuned into acquired company values and cultural considerations. 

You thrive in Cross-Functional Collaboration and Execution: 

•       Your day will range from presenting to executive sponsors, checking in with your cross-functional leaders, tightly managing calendars to ensure stakeholders engagement, and collaborating with the M&A extended Integration colleagues to drive excellence in integration execution.  

•       Develop a comprehensive integration project plan which includes all workstream and functional team tasks to achieve the success metrics.  You deliver as One Team. 

•       Effective at working in highly matrixed organizations and in a rapidly changing environment. 

You constantly look to improve M&A Integration Processes and Tools: 

•       Exceptional program management skills.  

•       Experienced in estimation, planning, design, and implementation across a complex business. 

•       Drive standardization and continuous improvements in our M&A Integration methodology, playbooks, and tools. 

 

Experience:  

•       10+ yrs M&A Integration leadership position, or leading strategy and execution for complex, transformational programs. 

•       BS degree in Business or equivalent.  MBA preferred 

•       Cross-border or in-country M&A Integration program experience 

•       Ability to travel 25% (potentially increased during peak deal activity)
