Key Competencies Required

Business Partner:  Demonstrated ability to anticipate the needs of business partners, proven ability to support a fast-paced business and demonstrated ability to understand and balance business exigencies with the provision of information security services.  Candidates must have a track record of proactively building and maintaining productive relationships with colleagues; effectively converting security perspectives into the business context of the organization and priorities.

Collaborative Management Style:  The ideal candidate will be required to develop a strong and effective partnership with executives and operating teams in all geographies. He or she will have a strong orientation toward making decisions that will benefit the organization as a whole, rather than optimizing resources or benefits solely his or her for own team.

Innovation Leadership:  Demonstrated ability to lead with innovative ideas rather than follow the competition and traditional approaches.  He/she will be an “out-of-the-box” thinker who will determine what PayPal needs to build today in order to get ahead of future threats and manage risk through a combination of sound traditional and creative approaches of securing information assets.  This pioneering mind-set will be critical as outside threats continue to evolve and develop in sophistication.  She/he will build an organization that is primed to get ahead of threats by using intelligence based security to understand where the threats are going, in real-time so PayPal is at least even, if not ahead, in its ability to thwart threats.  He/she will look at information security comprehensively and strategically rather than maintaining a strict focus on the implementation of new controls.  The right candidate for this role will be able to articulate their track record of innovation within a global environment.
