Role Description
PayPal is currently looking for a leader responsible for strategically driving our International Partner customer segment, primarily in APAC and LATAM. This role is responsible for managing the strategic partners that integrate on behalf of merchants. These types of partners include, ecommerce platforms, shopping carts, website builders, software providers, digital agencies, developers, system integrators, and marketplaces.

This is a broad role which requires a deep understanding of the ecommerce landscape and the business models for the partners under your management, as well as the partners technology and integration with PayPal. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, shaping strategy, and the execution of plans that drive adoption of PayPal services with our top regional and International partners.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand partner ecosystems, partner business models, needs of partners and PayPal solutions to uncover opportunities and craft partner specific solutions
  • Identify and drive growth opportunities within portfolio through new product integration/best practices, international expansion, marketing penetration or promotions or other strategic priorities.
  • Work with partner management teams in all markets to build pipelines, close deals, and give strategic direction
  • Establish yourself internally as the main point of contact for anything partner related through deep and strong engagement as well as internal involvement across all relevant departments
  • Support business operations of the international partner segment via business updates and reviews to PayPal and partner senior leadership

Professional Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of experience allowing for effective engagement with key partners at the business development, sales, marketing, and executive levels. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about new business models, product integrations, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and drive innovation through partners. Specific qualifications required include:

  • 15+ years experience in sales, business development or relationship management with ecommerce and/or channel partners
  • High level of expertise and experience in ecommerce, merchant services, and/or fintech industry
  • B.S. degree required - Master’s degree desired.
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation skills, able to drive results with C-level contacts internally and externally
  • Embody unquestionable integrity and trust, drive for results, bias towards action
  • Comfortable navigating large and complex organizations to influencing and obtain stakeholder buy in.
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Likes working in highly nuanced and complex strategic environments
