Customer Success Platform organization is currently looking for a Senior Director of Engineering to lead modernize customer service management, implement robotic process automation and equip agents with “contextual insights” to help reduce effort and serve customers effectively. We need a savvy engineering leader who is an execution machine, brings strong engineering discipline, is results oriented and long-term thinker. In this capacity, you will work closely with business and cross functional teams to ensure timely engineering delivery and take platform to the next level. An ideal candidate should possess progressive engineering experience, can think strategically, and is also comfortable getting into the details.


  • Experience in building and leading a geographically distributed team of engineers
  • Become strong voice of organization that can influence stakeholders on technology strategy
  • Partner with the product management and architecture organization to develop and deliver on roadmaps
  • Ability to collaborate with various vendors/partners and cross functional teams
  • Inspire your teammates to deliver best-in-class, quality software solutions
  • Drive a results-oriented culture with a strong focus on engineering excellence, execution, quality, and speed
  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead the best application engineering talent.
  • Develop key talent to deliver on modernizing the technology portfolio
  • Innovative thinking with a passion for problem-solving
  • Represents PayPal at external events


  • BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10-15+ years of experience in leading and managing teams
  • Experience building and leading large teams (80+) engineers across geographies
  • Must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, work with others (including remote team) and follow through to execute tasks
  • Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
