Will manage and perform standard maintenance, monitoring, and tuning of numerous SQL production database instances. Has worked with SQL 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017.
Has a minimum of 12 years of experience in SQL Database production environment.


  • Support existing databases while assuring optimized performance, stability and uptime.
  • Deliver projects tied to databases.
  • Tune and trouble-shoot SQL 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017 database issues.
  • Assess databases to assist in troubleshooting and performance tuning
  • Set up Backup and Recovery policies and jobs.
  • Use appropriate tuning methodology and tools to triage and resolve database performance issues at an expert level.
  • Support 2014/2016/2017 installations.
  • Support 2016/2017 upgrades.
  • Provide reliable technical support and guidance on CORP issues in a high velocity and dynamic environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management.
  • Work closely with various Infrastructure and Support teams across global.
  • Present DDL/DML changes successfully to high concurrency databases while preserving uptime and efficiency.
  • Design and implement Golden Gate replication
  • Provide technical leadership to a database team
  • Move DBs from on premise to a cloud
  • Support DBs running on a cloud

Skills Required:

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience administering a large production SQL Server environment.
  • 12+ years of experience in a complex Windows Server environment.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of Golden Gate replication software.
  • Expert level understanding of database internals and data structures.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and T-SQL.
  • Strong experience with following systems and applications:
    - Microsoft clustering
    - SCOM
    - SANs
    - Microsoft Windows 2008/2013/2016 Server
    - Scripting - preferably PowerShell
    - Light Speed
  • Strong experience with SQL patching, SQL troubleshooting and communication with Microsoft support.
  • Strong experience with SQL Log-shipping and AlwaysOn AG
  • Strong experience with OLTP and Batch processing database setup.
  • Strong experience with standard System Administration tasks including server builds, security updates, software installations and system
    troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with running a SQL instance on VMWare platform.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with moving a DB to a cloud.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with supporting a SQL instance running on a cloud.
  • Ability to use scripts to automate and streamline is a BIG plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to follow and improve processes and procedures.
