This opportunity is on the PayPal’s Integrated Marketing Analytics team, which focuses on driving PayPal’s success by providing quantitative insights and serving as business advisors to the global marketing organization. As members of the Marketing analytics team, we add significant value by consistently providing clarity and insights on PayPal’s most critical marketing initiatives and priorities.

Qualifications, Skills and Behaviors:

  • 4+ years of related experience in Analytics in a fast moving environment preferably with a marketing, payments, internet or ecommerce company.
  • Undergrad or graduate technical/quantitative degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields.
  • Demonstrates experience, familiarity and ease with handling large data sets and crunching numbers.
  • Well experienced working with SQL; experience with Teradata, Hadoop or other database management systems necessary.
  • Experience working with visualization tools (Qlikview, Tableau).
  • Passionate about problem solving, demonstrates ability to translate business questions into structured analysis and data analytics into business insights.
  • Strategic thinking and mental flexibility to be able to understand both the details of the problem, as well as, the big picture/business solution.
  • Exhibits exceptional written and verbal communication skill with the ability to translate complex problems into simpler terms, and effectively influence both peers and senior leadership.
  • Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, digital marketing and attribution is a big plus.
  • Enjoys having fun and truly wants to make real impact through their work.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of PayPal Products and marketing efforts of these products to customers.
  • Identify key business levers, establish cause & effect, perform analyses, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data driven decision-making.
  • Analyze initiative and channel performance, research financial models and other mechanisms to identify, evaluate and prioritize opportunities. 
  • Identify key metrics and build exec-facing dashboards to track progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives.
  • Develop and apply statistical techniques to deep-dive, to identify root cause and mitigation opportunities or specific actions to add value.
  • Discover new opportunities to grow and optimize the business through analytics, financial modeling, and business case development.
  • Manage multiple priorities through established Project Management practices.
  • Work closely with marketing business partners to design, prioritize, track and estimate the benefit of new strategies and decisions to drive key performance metrics.
  • Engage with teams across Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering and senior executives.
