The Global Business Intelligence team supports PayPal’s executives by delivering world-class performance management solutions and analytics that provide insights on key business drivers, trends, and opportunities. The team’s scope covers all of PayPal’s businesses globally, encompassing 250 million+ active accounts in more than 200 markets. The Team is part of the Global Analytics and Insights Team, reporting up through the CFO organization. The Sr. Analyst reports to the Corporate & Finance BI Manager, and will work on developing KPI’s, maintaining and improving performance dashboards used by PayPal’s executive leadership, and driving adoption. Additionally, the Sr. Analyst will be part of multiple innovation strategies to improve the visualization, automation, performance, and quality controls of all solutions. This role will provide extensive exposure to management and teams across the organization.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of different data sources, and strategically implement data flows for robustness and scalability.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries to ensure consistency across all dashboards.
  • Work with BI platforms to transform data effectively and support various reports across multiple technologies.
  • Work closely with other teams across the organization to ensure accuracy and consistency of data.
  • Keeping track of new features and enhancements and scope out challenges and opportunities.
  • Project management of solution development including design, ETL, data quality, and stakeholder communication and feedback.
  • Perform rigorous data analysis to proactively identify any inconsistencies or data quality issues. Provide recommendations for improvements.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, computer science, or related functions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Mastery of SQL and experience with BI reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview) and databases (Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop)
  • Experience with statistical/mathematical programming languages (e.g. Matlab, R) is a plus
  • Experience with Python is a plus
  • Experience in Financial Services and Payments is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
