The Analytics Data Platform Solution Engineer will be responsible for delivering solutions and driving major projects across all Paypal analytics platforms. This person will lead design, planning and implementation across multiple teams to deliver infrastructure, platform and technology solutions for our analytics partners and customers. This position requires strong problem solving capabilities, independent work ethic, planning and organizational skills, and experience working in a large-scale analytics environment.

Responsibilities:


• Produce system solutions and high level designs for complex projects and requirements


• Bring structure, communication and organization to complex, cross functional initiatives


• Drive technical designs to consensus and approval as a technical leader within analytics environment


• Successfully manage large scale platform projects and implementations


• Participate in cross-functional teams with customers and business partners to align roadmaps and projects


• Drive infrastructure and strategic planning and work with platform teams to establish technology roadmaps and plans

Basic Qualifications:



• 4+ years working in an analytics/big data environment


• Knowledge of analytics/big data technologies including Hadoop, Teradata, Microstrategy and Tableau


• Demonstrated experience managing complex business and technology projects involving diverse geographies, highly matrixed organizations and competing priorities


• Proven track record of developing technical architectures to address business requirements and communicating with technologists to drive the implementation of new technologies


• Experience in supporting large systems and infrastructure including Hadoop, Teradata, ETL and BI applications


• Project management experience in driving and delivering large scale and complex projects


• Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills, particularly as it relates to system design


• Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management


• Must exhibit strong leadership, communication, organizational and technical skills


• Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment


• Ability to work closely with geographically dispersed teams
