Global Data Sciences (GDS) is the R&D group for all of Risk and non-Risk teams and the center of excellence across PayPal for working with Big Data and Machine Learning. The team has more than 120 software engineers, data-scientists and other skilled technical staff uniquely focusing on developing data science solutions to aid in detecting and preventing fraud, protecting our customers and in providing better user experience . The group locate in San-Jose (CA), Tel-Aviv, Shanghai and Chennai, and reports directly to PayPal’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate software QA engineer to perform BigData applications testing and API testing Automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform E2E test activities, working closely with developers and data scientists on a complex and innovative analytics applications
  • Design and perform test plans for testing system back-end components, ensuring product’s quality and coverage.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites, using Python, Java & Scala
  • Simulate E2E scenarios using various platforms & technologies
  • Report on test progress and bugs found
  • Share knowledge with other team members within GDS.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Team player, agile, flexible, multi-tasking, passion for learning new areas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent analytics, problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Java/Python/Scala development experience
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux
  • Experience working with Big Data technologies such as
    Hadoop / Spark / Hive / Kafka / HBase / Elastic Search stack - Advantage
  • Experience with data analytics practices – Advantage

QUALIFICATION

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in manual & automation testing
