We are seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineer, Quality Assurance to join our technical team to help deliver efficient and effective quality solutions. The successful candidate will become an integral part of an effective technology team in which you can challenge and grow your quality assurance skills and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, estimate and document effective test strategies based on project schedules and requirements
  • Highlight common pitfalls and apply domain knowledge in the design phase of the products
  • Communicate test status throughout the SDLC
  • Develop and maintain automated test cases using tools such as Selenium, TestNG and Junit
  • Improve on existing in-house performance testing frameworks
  • Implement mobile and front end application test frameworks

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong aptitude (and appetite!) for learning new technologies
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of hands-on practical experience in developing web and/or mobile automation
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum processes and experience participating in an agile team
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in SDET or equivalent role
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and developing test cases within short development iterations
  • Ability to programmatically test software product
  • Working knowledge in testing webservices using tools such as REST-Assured, Paw
  • Hands-on experience in working with relational database such as mysql
  • Excellent debug and troubleshooting skills. Able to sniff through application logs and databases to spot patterns and abnormality
  • Basic understanding in distributed systems testing. Knowledge of queuing, caching and transactions in multi-node environment
  • Hands-on current experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment and build tools
  • Practical experience using modern source control systems, such as Git
  • Detail-oriented, team player, quick learner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with load testing tools is a strong asset
  • Experience in testing financial software web applications
  • Experience with continuous integration tools, particularly Bamboo and Jenkins
  • Experience with iOS, Android, Espresso, XCUI, and Appium
  • Familiar with Linux or Unix
  • Experience using Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience working with test management tools (e.g. TestRail)
