Primary responsibilities • Design, develop and maintain data-driven monitoring system for GDS analytical solutions based on Big data platform, using cutting edge technologies in full stack. • Look for improvement opportunities with business impact, participate in the formulations and implementation of processes, procedures, and policies for Live monitoring and Data preparation team. • Identify production issues for data science solutions during normal course of work, and collaborate with different partners (e.g. modelers, analysts) to solve problems with minimum guidance. • Requirements • Basic knowledge of Java/Python/Scala and SQL. Have passion in building and supporting data driven system. • Strong in problem solving. Ability to synthesize information and work in a Full stack and DevOps way. • Have experience with data visualization or BI system is a big plus • Have experience with big data is a plus. • Have experience with predicative modeling, data mining and analytical tool is a plus. • Solid foundation in common design patterns, algorithms and data structure is a plus. • Highly motivated, goal driven, innovative, curious and open minded. • Passionate for staying on top of technology front and unlock the power into business Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or quantitative field with 4+ year professional work experience. Or Master’s degree with 2+ year professional work experience • Team spirit and Good communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and oral. • Work effectively in a global team across different time zones

Global Data Sciences (GDS) is the largest group in PayPal’s Risk Management organization. It is the R&D group for all of Risk’s teams and the center of excellence across PayPal for working with Big Data and Machine Learning. The team has more than 120 software engineers, data-scientists, modelers, analysts and other skilled technical staff is uniquely focused on developing science, technology and strategies to aid in detecting and preventing fraud, protecting our customers and in managing other risky events. The group is centered in Tel-Aviv with teams in Shanghai and San-Jose (CA), and reports directly to PayPal’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

We are looking for outstanding engineering folks to join us early on and help build data and monitoring functionalities for GDS analytical solutions, detect and investigate production issues to address real business needs.
