Tracking Platform collects user behaviroral data and combines with the service rules to provide a holistic picture of user behavior and derive different insights. This platform is used by PayPal and its tenants like Venmo, Xoom, Hyperwallet etc. We collect about 25Billion + events on a daily basis and growing exponentially. The tech stack used includes web and mid tier services built in scala/akka, kafka, elastic, hadoop/spark/hive, teradata, druid and Web UI on raptor for self analytics. The criticality of decisions made based on this data is paramount. Hence making sure of integrity, availability, adhering to SLA is critical as well.

Skills Required:

•         4-8 yrs of work exp

•         Strong Java or scala development skills 

•         Hands on experience in building application in Spark or mapreduce.

•         Experience in Google cloud products like BigQuery, cloud storage etc is a big plus.

•         Should have good understanding of Hadoop infrastructure and how application works in a distributed environment.

•         Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills

•         Ability to work well with others, and thrive in a dynamic and challenging work environment. 

•         Experience with agile development methodologies and Lean Startup product iteration techniques

•         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
