We have engineers and data scientists work together to build data platforms, services and analytical assets upon massive data. We are currently seeking a senior data scientist, who will be responsible for design, build, optimize, and research on algorithms which helps to improve customer experience, reduce operation cost, prevent criminal such as social engineering, etc. Typical questions to answer in your day to day work may look like: • What's the impact of a change in a system of complex demand - supply model? • What's the next step a user wants to do? Is there any other user in the system share the similar pattern? • How can we stay ahead of a true contact happens and resolve customer's problem proactively? • Can we trust a customer when he or she contact us? The answers can significantly contribute to PayPal's operation performance. We also expect you can follow up with the latest research outcome in industry, and enjoy exploring new methods and technologies to make breakouts...

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or similar.
  • 2-5 years of data-related work experience, preferably in Machine-Learning, Data Mining or Statistics
  • Code writing capability in any programming language (Python, R, Java, Scala, etc.)
  • Hadoop experience (MapReduce, PIG, Hive, Spark) – an advantage
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Team worker, responsible, delivery-oriented
