Global Product Data Services is a newly formed team in the product and engineering organization under Customer Experiences and Technology. Its vision is to “Provide Enterprise Product Data at lower cost and better quality”. To achieve this we are looking for a Senior Engineer in Bangalore, India as part of local Big Data Engineering team. This team is responsible for building big data solution design, development, delivery and support/management as well as corresponding tools & infrastructure to enable and optimize wide-range business use cases.

Job description

•       As a Senior Engineer, own a component stack, work with the development and big data teams to design scalable big data infrastructures, including technical feasibility and proposal development for Big Data storage, processing and consumption

•       Design, coordinate and execute pilots, prototypes or proof of concepts to evaluate new technologies and frameworks

•       Promote technical best practices, industry standards and architectural concepts with engineering teams

•       Provide profiling and optimization guidance and tuning tips and tricks

•        

Job Requirements

  • A computer science graduate or undergraduate degree or equivalent with 7+ years of building large scalable and reliable enterprise technology platforms using Big Data open source technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Kafka and Elastic Search / Solr
  • At least 5 years experience in large scale, production, server side development on the JVM, Scala, Phython
  • 4 years experience working with Big Data technologies such as spark, Hadoop, H-base, k-v stores.
  • Experience with building RESTful API’s is a plus.
  • Experience with building real time application is a plus.
  • Hands on experience with engineering developer tools- GIT, Dockerization, Continuous Integration frameworks etc.
  • A passion for software engineering and for developing robust, scalable software systems
  • Public Cloud (GCP) working knowledge – very significant advantage
  • Hands on experience in DevOps practices – significant advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Highly motivated, goal driven, Can-do approach, curious and open minded
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial, ability to multi-task
