PayPal’s Infrastructure and Clustering team is looking to hire a Software Engineer with strong technical background and experience in design, development, testing, implementation and operations of software products/platforms. Candidate must be proficient in Java/J2EE and database technologies. Good understanding of non-functional aspects of any software product/platform such as security, availability, scalability, Disaster Recovery etc., is essential to be successful in this job role. Prior experience with cluster managers like Mesos, Kubernetes, Swarm etc., is a great plus. The candidate must also be an excellent team player with open mindedness and aptitude to analyse and understand the trade-offs between different design options to pick the best fit to solve a problem.

  • 3+ years of experience developing software, primarily with Java/J2EE Technology
  • Excellent Analysis and Problem Solving skills
  • Good Verbal and Communication Skills
  • Should have worked with Frameworks like Spring Boot, ReSTful Web services
  • Working knowledge in Databases (Preferably both NoSQL & RDBMS)
  • Working knowledge with Unix-like systems will be a plus
  • Basic Unix Shell scripting knowledge will be an advantage
  • Knowledge in Apache Mesos, Docker, Ansible and other System tools will be good to have
  • Working experience with geographically distributed teams will be a plus
