You will be working on the world’s leading payment solutions and enjoying our world-class facilities, excellent working environment at the best place Singapore has to offer, the Central Business District. The primary role of the Software Engineer is to provide technical and domain expertise in the design and delivery of software and infrastructure for PayPal's web site. This person is a experienced technical expert that can comprehend the business requirements very well, and is well-versed in software implementation. Beyond this, the successful candidate is expected to be multi-disciplinary, and is a multi-talented member of the technical team. The duties performed by the Software Engineer vary, from technical design and development, to troubleshooting, performance analysis, quality assurance support and live site issue support and analysis. This position has a hands-on development role that will be actively involved in software development and project delivery of Paypal products.

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related area.
  • 2-6 years Experience in Software Quality Engineering with in-depth working knowledge of base testing techniques (Static and Dynamic Analysis, Functional and Structural Testing, Load and Performance testing, API and Security Testing)
  • Highly proficient with Selenium test automation tool & Framework Development
  • Highly competent hands-on experience in the following:
    • Java and C++ programming
    • Working experience in Linux / Unix environment
    • OO-based analysis and design
    • Database Design (Oracle/MySQL)
    • Software design and development methodologies, preferably agile methodology.
    • Experience in using source control tools (Preferably GIT)
    • Unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Google Test
    • Experience in J2EE, Scripting languages ( Shell, Python, Perl ), Mobile Development, Performance Tuning, Network Design would be a plus.
  • Highly analytical, innovative, and able to think strategically and to develop software based on requirements/specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills; ability to produce clear, concise communications and documentation.
  • Highly effective at working in cross-functional and cross geographical organizations.
  • Working knowledge of finance industry standards and practices preferred.
  • Experience in maintenance and enhancement of deployed products preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with diverse cultures
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and adapt to changes
