The Issuance and Tokenization team at PayPal manages the software systems that underpin PayPal's Issuance and Tokenization capabilities. These systems manage the issuance and life cycle of physical and virtual cards that give our customers seamless access to their digital wallets. This team is looking for a strong operations engineer who can work alongside a world-class product development team to ensure better process automation around code pipelines and batch-based business workflows.

Job Description

We are looking for a strong operations engineer who can work alongside a product development team to enable process automation of

  • Code pipelines to ensure the quality of software delivered
  • Batch processes that enable card issuance, transaction settlement and reconciliation workflows

What you’ll do

Creating CI/CD pipelines ensuring high levels of quality during promotion of software to LIVE environments

Plugging monitoring gaps in the platform

Instrumenting proactive alerts for our card and transaction processing operations

Creating a process for automation and necessary manual intervention for the following business processes

  • Information exchange with card manufacturing partners
  • Information exchange with transaction settlement partners
  • Troubleshooting mismatches in reconciliation of transactions

Automating code merges, end-to-end tests and Live pushes

Contributing to automation of unit tests, functional tests and end-to-end test suite execution

Enhancing these test suites based on feedback from LIVE issues

Skills required

  • 3 years of prior DevOps experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with SQL
  • Intermediate proficiency in data analytics
  • Intermediate proficiency with scripting languages
  • Prior experience in managing high-throughput batch operations

Basic Qualification:

3+ years of experience and at least a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).

(BSCS + 2 yrs or MSCS + 1 yr)
