We are seeking a passionate engineering manager to lead the PayPal's Merchant Services team in Bangalore. The team is responsible for building fast, scalable, and high performance mid tier services managing user profile, preference, and products bundles.

We are seeking a passionate engineering manager to lead the PayPal's Merchant Services team in Bangalore.  The team is responsible for building fast, scalable, and high performance mid tier services managing user profile, preference, and products bundles.


This role will be responsible for leading the team to building business requirement features as well as infrastructure enhancements. He will be involved in requirement discussions with cross functional teams, technical design, release planning, and production support. This position requires background in software engineering, technical and people management. The successful candidate will work with other engineering managers to take care of day-to-day operations of a software engineering team and manage the quality delivery of programs within schedule.   



Responsibilities

  • Own and drive development of business requests in the full development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, and production release within schedule.
  • Demonstrate proficiency applying Agile practices
  • Validating and managing project scope.
  • Resource and project roadmap planning
  • Project tracking, reporting and auditing. Meet project milestones and timely release of software according to roll-out plans.
  • Resolve project issues, communicate status and coordinate activities with cross functional teams across geographies.
  • Resolution of production issues in the domain.
  • Enforce established processes, technical and QA standards.
  • Identify areas for improvements to achieve higher quality and efficiency of software development.
  • Support innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.


Required Skills

  • 5+ years of people manager experience
  • 7+ years of professional experience with at least 5+ years hand-on in Java/C++ software development experience and OO based design and development.
  • Strong people management background with proven ability to build personal trust, inspire others, and lead high-performing engineering teams.
  • Demonstrate passion and commitment for growing capabilities of each team member
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams across geographies and time zones is essential.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills; ability to thoroughly understand product specifications, and ability to relate these to product development activities

Education

Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related area
