Senior Web Application Engineer

PayPal’s Checkout team is looking for expert JavaScript engineers to help partner closely with our product and design team to deliver new and innovative payment experiences.We are responsible for developing the web experiences that millions of buyers use every day. We’re looking for talented JavaScript application developers with a passion for user experience and a desire to question all assumptions to make our products better. You’ll be joining a team of engineers building our next generation checkout platform. From new designs and experiences to our adoption of React/Apollo/GraphQL, you’ll be a part of the “what” and “how” of the future of checkout applications.

What you’ll be doing:
- Build new checkout experiences from inception through launch.
- Update and add new features to improve millions of buyers’ payment experience.
- Work with product and design teams from across PayPal to develop new ideas and A/B tests.
- Drive discussion and provide feedback on code and architecture.

Job Requirements:
- Experience with building single page applications using React or similar JavaScript libraries.
- Excellent understanding of JavaScript fundamentals.
- Experience using HTML/CSS to re-create provided designs.
- Experience with GraphQL and related libraries(i.e. Apollo) preferred.
- Knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform design constraints on the Web.
- 6+ years of software development experience with a focus on web development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
