A typical day for the Senior Tech Risk Analyst will include:

Business seller risk specializes in analyzing fraud patterns and creating and adapting advanced proprietary fraud prevention mechanisms in a global environment. The analysts overcome challenges presented by big data, evolving fraud techniques and new payment technologies by leveraging area expertise, data science, advanced classification algorithms and story-based analytics. They follow those mechanisms’ development process from start to finish, and work closely with technologists and developers to bring their analytical insights to life.
Tech risk analysts are highly motivated team players who specialize in backend technical systems, data flow processes, databases and root cause analysis. Along that the tech analyst expected to have great communication skills, helping them to engage with various technical teams in the organization. The tech-analyst overcome challenges presented by big data, complex system’s structure, evolving fraud techniques, new payment technologies and human behavior.

What does Success Look Like?  

In your role as a Tech Risk Analyst, you will:

Deliver decision strategies

  • Develop data-driven decision strategies to support the business’ global financial goals
  • Work with PayPal’s detailed business data to optimize performance and minimize financial loss across multiple products, global regions and financial systems
  • Improve technological processes to enhance decision making and strategies

Support Product and Business Organizations

  • Guide the development of customer-facing products to enhance the PayPal experience around the world
  • Work to reduce friction, improve conversion and Risk decision accuracy through product changes
  • Support merchant integration, strategic partnerships and more by working with the Business Unit’s integration engineers and account managers

Drive End-to-End processes in the Risk organization

  • Manage long-term processes from start to finish
  • Measure performance against KPIs and goals
  • Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders and peers across the Risk organization and PayPal teams.

About You

  • Education: Bachelor / Masters studies in one of the following: Computer Sciences/ Software Engineering/ Information Systems Engineering
  • 2+ years’ work experience in relevant positions (e.g. Data analyst, statistician, data scientist, FP&A, product/process manager, DB/BI/software projects)
  • Proven analytical skills- a minimum score of 700 on the psychometric test (or an equivalent) or 85 grade average from university in a quantitative field
  • Experience with programming/scripting language
  • Excellent spoken and written English – a must
  • Familiarity with Python/R – an advantage
  • Quick-thinker, fast learner, wide general knowledge, problem solver
  • Foreign languages – an advantage
