Risk Analyst to join a global risk team based out of Shanghai managing all of trigger based queuing and prioritization for global Commercial Sellers portfolio.

  • A passion for problem-solving, flexibility, comfort with ambiguity, and creativity
  • Ability to self-start, work independently and deal with ambiguity
  • International experience preferred, especially country coverage of a functional area
  • Continuously evaluate industry trends, competitive risk policies and customer needs in the region to develop and improve risk policies uniquely designed for the APAC markets
  • Define, analyze, execute and evolve the end-to-end risk management processes for APAC LM/SMB merchants
  • Collaborate with x-functional teams to develop tools and processes to enhance efficiency of risk monitoring; assist in new product development, marketing activities and related risk endeavors
  • Consult on business initiatives, products and features. Analyze risk impacts, exposures and expected margin & customer experience
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to drive down customer friction and loss and enable profitable growth - subject to the constraints of managing PayPal losses and maintaining a safe payment ecosystem
  • Translate complex quantitative information into presentations that are easily understood by senior management on a regular basis. Communicate and interact with partners and executives, verbally and written, in a professional manner

Basic Qualifications

  • Master degree or above with 2+ years of risk management, analytics, credit underwriting etc. Functions in financial services, payment services, or merchant account acquiring companies or related experience. 
  • Understanding of online payments and risk management in e-commerce strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills needed. Proficiency in coding languages like SQL, SAS, Python etc. preferred
  • Strong articulation, communication and presentation skills
  • Results driven team player with proven execution skills
