We are seeking an experienced product management leader to join PayPal’s Payments Product team. In this role, you will lead a group of product managers for the platform that powers PayPal payments and experiences for PayPal's ecosystem of Marketplaces, Merchants and Developers - the payments backbone for over $500b in volume annually. You will lead and mentor our team of product managers and engineering teams across multiple locations in the Asia Pacific region. This role requires you to be hands on, creative, lead and mentor a growing team, and will provide exposure to PayPal’s breadth of global payment solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage one or more business initiatives, gathering requirements, and driving execution with a focus on quality and collaboration with your counterparts in architecture and engineering.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, providing both guidance on day-to-day projects as well as career development
  • Collaborate closely with our regional teams and other related product managers, technical architects, engineers and other cross-functional stakeholders, to ensure that product solutions deliver against business objectives.
  • Work cross-organizationally with customer support, operations, legal, compliance, risk management, engineering, and other functional areas, to ensure alignment with related go-to-market activities.
  • Ensuring cross-functional and cross-regional product team execution (with program management, architecture, and engineering teams), meeting project milestone dates, driving decisions across teams and ensuring product quality.
  • You will be measured by the business results, quality , and agility of the stakeholders that use the platform services your team implements, including such KPIs related to revenue, transactions processed, code quality, speed of stakeholder ramp-up, speed of new services design delivery and deployment, and ability to integrate changes to existing services and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of payments domain and payments industry.Good understanding of platform service models, including Platform as a Service (PaaS), with experience launching and managing PaaS services strongly preferred. Experience with Web Services and Service Oriented Architectures (REST APIs)
  • 3+ years experience recruiting, leading, and mentoring a team (5+) of product managers. 
  • 8+ years experience in software / technology product management, including customer analysis, market segmentation, KPI management, operational management and roadmap development. Must have previous experience launching and iterating on multiple globally distributed products. Must have experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Self-starter with ability to lead through ambiguity
  • Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with strong, talented, globally distributed teams
  • Ability to lead, drive consensus and deliver in a globally matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Background in analytics and CDI to make product decisions and to iterate rapidly, particularly platform driven analytics
  • Background in leading and effectively managing a complex platform that is highly reliable and scalable
  • Proven experience in managing products, budgets and building business cases to justify resource needs to senior leaders and finance partners
  • Ability to travel between Indian regional offices (Bangalore / Chennai) and occasional international travel
