Responsibilities:

Genesis is a highly scalable and performant container orchestration platform that allows developers to run and manage containerized applications at scale on multi-cloud infrastructure. It is the next generation application packaging framework for PayPal. As a Senior Product Manager for the Genesis platform, you will own the product roadmap and be responsible for seamless execution, working closely with your engineering counterparts, while ensuring we’re delivering the right product at the right time for your customers. Success means you’ve enabled all PayPal applications to unify in a common pipeline and operations model that unlocks tremendous productivity and velocity for the company. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Influencing overall container platform strategy and creating capabilities that are best-in-class for container orchestrators in the industry
  • Driving adoption of the Genesis platform within PayPal core teams as well as PayPal subsidiaries
  • Technical evangelization and creating hands-on technical content for PayPal developers
  • Being a mentor within and outside your team in order to achieve individual and team goals
  • Working cross-functionally (with global BUs, engineering, and design) and developing strong relationships that help build trust with key partner teams.
  • Evangelizing product roadmap internally and externally in informal and formal settings
  • Running lean experiments to inform future investment areas

Qualifications: 

  • Experience managing and evangelizing infrastructure products in a top tech or payments company
  • Experience in building cloud scale services and a deep understanding of distributed systems.
  • Strong execution and ability to drive work to completion
  • Familiarity with cluster managers such as Apache Mesos or Kubernetes is a plus
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to drive in an Agile execution framework
  • 2 – 5 years experience as a product manager in a highly technical or platform domain
