Job Description

Fueled by a fundamental belief that having access to financial services creates opportunity, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) is committed to democratizing financial services and empowering people and businesses to join and thrive in the global economy. Our open digital payments platform gives PayPal’s 325 million active account holders the confidence to connect and transact in new and powerful ways, whether they are online, on a mobile device, in an app, or in person. Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal creates better ways to manage and move money, and offers choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.

In 2018, iZettle became part of the PayPal family. iZettle is on a mission to help small businesses succeed in a world of giants. Tens of millions of small businesses worldwide are still being underserved by the traditional players. By giving small businesses the tools to get paid, sell smarter and grow, we’re empowering them to reach their full potential. Together with PayPal, we can reach 24 million merchants across the world with more of the affordable tools they need to thrive. Join us in putting an end to the ordinary way the world defines financial freedom. In our Point of Sale product area we are looking for a senior product designer who will help scale our business while staying in tune with customer needs. The iZettle Point of sale system is enabling users to fulfill an array of everyday jobs, from creating and selling items to managing their stock and connecting to their online store. The role specifically is within the area that is focusing on creating an ecosystem of integrations around iZettle’s in-store point of sale to become the hub for all business needs for the users. These integrations are the building blocks of our omni-channel offering.

What you’ll do:

  • Your home team will be a cross-functional team and you will own the design process together with a partner designer.

  • You will explore strategic opportunities based on quantitative and qualitative insights, and work to fill in the gaps when research is missing.

  • You will generate multiple hypotheses to customer problems, ranging from small optimisations to innovation of the user experience.

  • Together with developers and data analysts, you’ll scope, design, build and analyse experiments focused on moving our key metrics.

  • You will play a key role as an ambassador for product design, continually sharing learnings and leading conversations with the rest of the product designers in the area, and the organization.

Who you are:

  • Have extensive experience working with digital design and in cross functional teams.

  • You know how to balance business and customer problems, and care deeply about solving the right problems for the users.

  • You make decisions based on evidence and love making incremental improvements which lead to larger impact.

  • You have experience analysing your designs by interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data.

  • You are creative and courageous, constantly up for challenging the status quo.

  • You thrive in uncertainty, ready to shift direction quickly when we learn something new.

  • You understand how to de-risk a design, and have a good understanding for how much design is enough to ship.

  • You are a design generalist, and comfortable working across the entire design process; from user research, to concept development, wireframing, prototyping and testing, all the way to final UI.

  • Reflecting on, and improving, the team’s processes is something you naturally engage in every day.

We would love to hear from you!
