Job Snapshot

Job Description

Fueled by a fundamental belief that having access to financial services creates opportunity, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) is committed to democratizing financial services and empowering people and businesses to join and thrive in the global economy. Our open digital payments platform gives PayPal’s 325 million active account holders the confidence to connect and transact in new and powerful ways, whether they are online, on a mobile device, in an app, or in person. Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal creates better ways to manage and move money, and offers choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.

In 2018, iZettle became part of the PayPal family. iZettle is on a mission to help small businesses succeed in a world of giants. Tens of millions of small businesses worldwide are still being underserved by the traditional players. By giving small businesses the tools to get paid, sell smarter, and grow, we’re empowering them to reach their full potential. Together with PayPal, we can reach 24 million merchants across the world with more of the affordable tools they need to thrive.  Join us at iZettle - and the Hardware Experience area - to redefine what financial freedom is. We are looking for a senior product designer with competencies in developing outstanding e-commerce and shopping experiences, driven by data and user insights.

The hardware experience is where digital and physical experiences converge. We are responsible for how people interact with our hardware from purchase to set up, activation, and use. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to develop iZettles' e-commerce to the next level: by working with data to meet our business goals while providing a seamless activation/ onboarding experience to our Merchants.

As an iZettle product designer, you should be passionate about translating insights and strategies into crafts, by developing products that are desirable, valuable, and meaningful to users. You will bring a broad toolset and hands-on skills to the team, enabling them to look across the wider picture of the user experience. Although we are looking for a person with great attention to detail - and core competencies rooted in interaction and visual design - you should also be able to look at the merchant lifecycle/ journey with a holistic mindset. This role is particularly exciting for those who like to experiment with data to optimize flows, drive conversion, and create impact.

As someone who will seat between growth, web, and other hardware experience teams, you should be autonomous and bold on your design decisions and approach, while keeping a highly collaborative and curious mindset. In contrast, you will be able to connect with a diverse set of product teams across iZettle- and learn from them - to deliver on a broader growth mission.

You will work in close collaboration with design, tech, and product counterparts on key initiatives; and since Design is a bridge between them, we expect you to understand the needs of real people, business goals, and technical feasibility to find the right balance between speed of delivery and quality.

-------

What we expect from you:

  • Responsible for the quality of the experience of iZettle e-commerce.

  • Enjoy experimentation and leveraging data as a great tool to learn, grow, and guide understanding.

  • Works closely with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation.

  • Works cross-functionally with product and other areas from iZettle and PayPal, contributing to the overall strategy and product direction.

  • Integrates business constraints into design decisions, maintaining relevancy, and quality.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate and advocate design decisions.

  • Skilled at packaging deliverables and storytelling, to demonstrate creative thinking and problem-solving process to stakeholders.

  • Regularly facilitates design discussions with clear and high-quality outputs.

  • Fully leverages iZettle platform capabilities and processes to create, document, and communicate designs.

  • Consistent in speed and quality.
