PayPal Australia are looking for a Senior Manager, Partnership Marketing.

In Australia, PayPal has a leadership brand position in payments, and was named as 4th most meaningful Australian brand behind Woolworths, Google and Coles. The Australian business has a reputation across PayPal as being an innovation hub with great ideas and executional capability.

The Australian Consumer team is looking for a creative, highly motivated leader who is well-versed in partner programs and marketing strategies.  In addition to collaborating with marketing colleagues on acquisition and engagement initiatives, you will also be working closely with internal sales and business development teams.  You will both define and execute partner-marketing campaigns and employ new ways of thinking to bring joint campaigns to light in collaboration with the partners’ marketing team.

This single contributor role is responsible for program strategy, development and execution of PayPal Partnership Program and reports to the Head of Consumer Marketing.

The role will be responsible for leading, developing and executing on Partnership marketing strategy and execution initiatives in Australia with the ultimate aim of providing the best possible experience for consumers and driving effective acquisition, engagement activation and retention activities.

  • Be part of a consumer marketing team that is famous for identifying, creating and delivering growth and renowned for executional excellence
  • Create and execute partner initiatives to meet acquisition, activation and retention metrics, across all channels – largely CRM, Search & Digital, Social, Owned channels and Website
  • Work closely with Channel and Sales teams to support in winning new business, driving B2B2C co-marketing programmes
  • Build and foster great relationships within the overall AU team, Regional and Global teams and partner to deliver localized marketing programmes
  • Drive a customer-led, insights focused approach to intelligently use data and research in decision making
  • Build on current partner marketing strategy and capabilities to help drive acquisition of new consumers through partner platforms and channels at scale. The scope includes website, paid digital and social, and email channels. 
  • Define co-marketing strategies with our top strategic partners by leveraging both paid and owned channels.  Bring best practices and thought leadership to help our partners grow.  Collaborate cross-functionally to bring these strategies to market.
  • Help the business development and sales teams be successful by identifying needs, gaps and best practices.  This will include both sales enablement collateral as well as marketing capabilities we can offer to partners at scale.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on partners for the Marketing team.  Identify opportunities to leverage and promote partners in acquisition, engagement and integrated seasonal campaigns.
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to develop and evolve the reporting dashboards and analyze individual partnership campaign performance to derive actionable insights to improve performance, conversion rates, and lifetime customer value.
  • Define annual priorities and strategies with a view of how it gets executed by quarter.
  • Work closely with business marketing team to ensure alignment across customer experience, goals and activity
  • Partner effectively with marketing agencies to deliver campaigns
  • Strong understanding of consumer trends and attitudes to money
  • Be a passionate voice of the customer in the Australian business


  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in marketing –  7+ years in marketing strategy and execution / 5+ years of experience working in partner marketing. Experience working with an internal sales team is highly desired
  • Cross-functional team and project leadership
  • Understanding of Consumer attitudes to money and payments
  • Strong experience and successful track record in developing and managing digital end-to-end marketing programmes to deliver against a set of financial targets.
  • Successful track record in working cross functionally & building effective working relationships. Candidate should have a passion for working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop win-win-win situations for our partners and customers.

  • Successful completion of a university Bachelor’s degree is required; post graduate credentials are highly preferred.
