We are seeking someone to join us on a 12 month contract who can drive the go to market strategy for bringing new consumer credit products to the AU market. This is a truly rare opportunity!

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Marketing Manager Credit will play a key leadership role in the go to market strategy for bringing new consumer credit products to the AU market as well as being responsible for leading the marketing strategy for PayPal Working Capital (PPWC), our SMB loan product. Reporting to both the Marketing Director and the General Manager of Credit, the Senior Marketing Manager will lead the Credit Marketing team and will be responsible for driving the acquisition and lifecycle strategy for our credit products and the execution of innovative campaigns to meet key business and customer experience targets.



Key responsibilities:

  • Be part of a marketing team that is famous for identifying, creating and delivering growth and renowned for executional excellence
  • Work with the cross-functional Credit team and external agencies to execute on the go-to-market and launch strategy of any new consumer or merchant credit products by managing customer research, CVP and brand development and launch marketing campaign
  • Following the launch of any new credit product, lead all marketing and brand initiatives and manage the ongoing acquisition and lifecycle marketing strategy on both paid and owned channels
  • Lead the PPWC marketing strategy and annual plans, aligning with business goals and objectives. Develop integrated marketing initiatives to achieve business objectives including new loans, subsequent loans and loan volumes across channels
  • Accountability for the delivery of planned PPWC activities against financial and non-financial metrics
  • Be a passionate “voice of the customer” in the Credit team, and the AU business, always striving to create customer experiences which truly delight our consumers and merchants
  • Deliver innovative and impactful creative marketing initiatives, aligned to the PayPal brand guidelines
  • Undertake analysis and research to understand customer needs and ongoing behaviours, as well as competitor landscape reviews, and apply learnings to campaign development
  • Partner with regional and global counterparts to share learnings and leverage best practice approaches for PPWC and credit marketing
  • Track, analyze and optimize ongoing campaigns to improve marketing performance
  • Partner closely with Marketing Operations to define the marketing technology requirements and best practices for the program
  • Collaborate with the wider Marketing team to integrate credit throughout core programs where it’s relevant to our customers
  • Drive a customer-led, insights focused approach to intelligently use data in decision making
  • Leadership of 1-2 direct reports


Work experience, skills and requirements:


  • Minimum 8 years’ of relevant experience in marketing. Specialist product or CRM marketer, ideally with experience across both B2B and B2C marketing (highly relevant backgrounds include financial services, telco, payments, tech, eCommerce)
  • Strong experience in managing end-to-end marketing programs across the customer lifecycle to deliver to business targets, with a particular focus on cross-selling to an existing customer base
  • Understanding of consumer and merchant attitudes to credit, money and payments
  • Proven track record of delivering innovative, creative and impactful large scale marketing campaigns
  • Experience leading customer research projects and drawing on insights to articulate compelling customer value propositions
  • Experience working as part of a cross-functional project team with strong negotiation skills and the agility to work with people from a range of disciplines 
  • Hands on marketer who is outstanding at execution
  • Analytical and comfortable with drawing insights from data and reporting
  • Excellent at managing agencies and cultivating effective working relationships
  • People management experience
