This position will be responsible for advising cross functions on PayPal’s Global Privacy program including privacy principles implementation to ensure adherence to various privacy laws and regulations, as well as assessing regulatory change impacts on the Global Privacy program design.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

  • Participate in cross functional initiatives, providing value-add solutioning and subject matter expertise on privacy relevant matters
  • Support in the design of customer facing products to ensure privacy by design and privacy compliance at launch
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships across various global cross functional teams and levels of management by acting as a trusted advisor
  • Review and advise on new and enhanced products, services, technology, marketing communications, and new business initiatives to facilitate compliance with applicable data protection requirements.
  • Support and advise on privacy/data protection impact assessments
  • Understand and advise on complex data flows across the data lifecycle.
  • Assess new privacy regulations, working closely with Privacy Legal, to determine the requirement impact on the Global Privacy program.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable privacy requirements and accreditation standards, and monitor advancements in technologies.
  • Work autonomously as a leader, as well as part of multiple teams, as a collaborator and advisor.
  • Identify enterprise-wide privacy and data protection-related risks and suggesting mitigation measures.
  • Create and deliver effective training and enhancing awareness around privacy and data protection to foster the organization’s understanding of data protection.

The successful candidates should also be able to offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, agility to adapt to changing priorities at hand, and be able to effectively work and communicate collaboratively / cross-functionally with multiple teams located in different geographies. Candidate must have a hands-on approach, strong intellectual curiosity and attention to detail and organization, and a passion for achieving practical business impact.

Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:

  • 7-10 years of compliance, privacy, policy, control or similar experience.
  • In depth knowledge of privacy regulations and their impact on business practices, including the GDPR and CCPA
  • Experience in either marketing, product design and engineering as it relates to privacy or other compliance matters.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of driving results and building effective relationships with all levels of management.
  • Strong project management skills, including attention to detail and effective organization.
  • Ability to multitask effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage projects and drive/achieve results, while working with minimal
