The Finance Operating Model (FOM) is responsible for identifying strategic finance-wide projects, providing critical program management, delivering process automations, improving internal controls, and institutionalizing project cost/benefit analysis, tracking, and reporting. This role is a high visibility role that requires the ability to lead or provide meaningful participation to several activities including information gathering, gap analysis, planning, valuation, and benefits analysis. Key focus for the role is on prioritization within the finance project portfolio, creating meaningful analysis to drive decisions about initiatives, and capacity planning to ensure balanced utilization of resources. The ability to work collaboratively with different business unit leads and subject matter experts is required.

The responsibilities of the FOM Senior Manager include:

  • Proactive partnership across finance to develop prioritization of finance projects that enable key operational capabilities and efficiencies
  • Align with key stakeholders on balanced, multi-year roadmap for key finance projects
  • Expand roadmaps across finance and partner to derive insights
  • Introduce capacity planning for finance projects and initiatives and develop insights into future support decisions
  • Oversee Target Operating Model activities to create desired-state Finance organization
  • Identify cost saving opportunities
  • Effectively partner with business leaders to develop business cases and review charters that account for timelines, budgeting and resource needs, as well as clear articulation of project benefits
  • Provide recommendations of project funding based on evaluation of project proposals
  • Identification of automation opportunities embedded within finance projects

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Finance or Business degree preferred.
  • Professional certification or equivalent experience highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience participating in large-scale planning and transformation activities in global organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate ideas in presentations.
  • Executive presence with ability to effectively work with all types of roles and functions in the organization.
  • Mindset to proactively engage and evaluate (and drive resolution of) transformational opportunities for the finance organization.
  • Analytic ability to see around corners and proactively identify and report on risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Ability to lead and drive execution of plans through influence where you do not have direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders while navigating complex decision points and driving engagement on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated organizational agility and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with matrix reporting structure.
  • Able to take initiative and work independently, however, collaboration, as part of a uniquely qualified team is required.
