Support risk mitigation activities for the consumer product portfolio. The role will provide a risk lens to portfolio leaders, product managers, and PMO teams throughout the product development lifecycle in order to ensure products and features are secure and compliant, and the risks associated with the products and features are identified and managed as outlined per enterprise compliance policies. The candidate will interact with internal control teams, product managers, and the subject matter experts in financial risk, compliance, information security, legal, privacy, A strong candidate will: • Drive initiatives and business process change which strengthens the internal controls environment. • Assist with the identification of risks and evaluate solutions for operating gaps or other potential adverse conditions that could pose a risk to the control environment. • Be responsible for ensuring there is a consistent and common approach to implementation of risk management activities. • Work across business units to discover issues, mitigate risk, and drive continuous improvement of existing policies and procedures

Job Description:

• Assist with First Line Operational Risk responsibilities, supporting the design, development and tracking of Key Risk Indicators; supporting the Risk & Control Self-Assessment process (including subsequent Control Testing). 
• Review, identify, analyze and recommend business process and workflow changes and/or improvements; which mitigate risk
• Serve as subject matter expert to internal business teams on a range of risk management activities and industry best practices
• Assist in maintaining/strengthening all First Line policies and procedures -such as drafting, reviewing and updating them as necessary
• Assist in the closing of issues /gaps that fall under compliance or internal controls, and ensures compliance with internal policies
• Collaborate with functional lines of business for continuous improvement of existing processes, policies and procedures based on regulatory changes, internal audits, and examinations by regulatory agencies.

This position will be asked to demonstrate experience and competence by:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience

• A minimum of 3 years of similar or related experience in the payment industry, financial services, management consulting firms and/or project management

• Proven experience identifying/evaluating/managing risk and collaborating to drive issue resolution in partnership with key stakeholders

• Understanding of business processes and how to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills, initiative, the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently as well as within a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills and experience working in Risk Management and in Financial Services preferred

• Demonstrated working relationships that enable self-direction in risk management
