PayPal’s Partner and Marketplaces engineering team is looking to add an experienced customer facing leader in Full stack engineering. Do you want to join the team that is on the journey to conquer the Business to Business segment ? Day to Day you will guide a team of engineers to implement tactical direction against organization goals. You will lead the operations and activities of an area, work with stake-holders to ensure quality of execution in this area, spending 30% of your time developing people and your team.


A successful manager :

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to individual contributors on their team. Influence, motivate and coach their team to perform at their greatest potential.
  • Write web application code following best practices of accessibility, internationalization and instrumentation.
  • Partner closely with design & product to craft great product experiences.
  • Be a crafts(wo)man and encourage code craftsmanship across team.
  • Deliver code in an agile team environment.
  • Assist with application deployments in our Cloud environment.
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.

Requirements:

  • Experience in software engineering team leadership
  • Strong technical background including hands-on web application engineering experience
  • Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional groups inclusive of design and product organizations
  • Desire to drive product innovation through real-world experimentation
  • Experience with Node.js a massive plus

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of Javascript application design, development and testing experience
  • Minimum 7 years leading front end engineering teams or projects
  • Expert knowledge of Hmtl, Css, javascript
  • A solid experience building applications on top of RESTful APIs.
  • Solid knowledge of web application frameworks such as Backbone, Node, Ember and React/Redux.
  • Experience with web frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, LESS, Bootstrap, and jQuery/Dojo/YUI.
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns.
  • Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web.
  • Experience developing automated unit, integration and functional test suites.
  • Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others.
  • Clear communicator to varying levels through email/IM’s/person
  • B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science is desired
